The 17th European Conference on the Spectroscopy of Biological Molecules (ECSBM) took place in the city centre of Amsterdam, from the 11th until the 14th of September 2017. Spectroscopy is a small topic inside Physics and ECSBM aims to be a crossroad of three fundamental scientific fields: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. But still it didn’t grow as expected.

‣The challenge: Break with the old conference patterns that were not up to date. That meant to create a responsive website, the use of email, ads and social media. The fresh and innovative identity, communication and digital interfaces differ from their previous one which ended up attracting a younger public to the conference.

‣The result: For the first year since it’s creation in 1985, ECSM attracted a younger public to the conference and we sold a 23,4% more of tickets than last edition.
